Technical Site Manager responsible for a Data Centre environment in London Docklands - The client requires someone with sound electrical knowledge, has controlled labour on a similar premises and will require a first class knowledge of the operation and maintenance of the Plant and Equipment involved in a high tech building
In addition to his technical expertise, a sound knowledge of general management and financial principles and in particular motivating and controlling a labour force in excess of 30 staff
You should have a thorough grounding in both mechanical and electrical building services engineering, and be in possession of a certificate of competency in the 16th Edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations. High voltage authorisation would be a benefit
You will be responsible for the continuous efficient and economic operating and maintenance of the Building Fabric, Plant and Equipment, Fixtures and Fittings, manage and administer the Permit to Work System for the resident maintenance team, Specialist Contractors and any other persons requiring access to or working on the Building Fabric, Plant and Equipment, Fixtures and Fittings. Also liase with all specialist service contractors and give technical direction to the resident maintenance team.
Duties can be summarised as follows:
- Direct and control shift and day work maintenance personnel,
· Provide adequate monitoring and operation and maintenance of plant*services
· Provide adequate cover for emergency situations.
· Ensure that all services are managed in a cost effective and efficient manner and are operated profitably.
· Liase with the clients representatives.
· Management of the operational staff and staff discipline matters, work closely with all shift supervisors to ensure that all works are carried out and meet the clients Service Level Agreements.
· Assist in preparing the monthly site progress report for the client and to attend the Client meetings as required.
· Ensure Safe Systems of work are implemented
· Ensure that all works are completed within the clients agreed time scales.
· Ensure the Quality Assurance procedures are implemented.
· Ensure that the planned preventative maintenance programme is kept on schedule.
· Identify staff training needs and organise necessary course through the contract manager
· Identify all equipment and level of critically.
· Manage reporting of site generated WIP and Debt, and report to the contract manager
